Okunevka Bay. Fishing and hunting base perch. Distinctive features of the base

On Friday after work, my family and I went to the Gulf of Finland to find a camp site.

The location was chosen taking into account the weather forecast. The forecast was not good - wind and rain in the morning. We were looking for a place to hide from the wind.

On the advice of a fisherman friend Andrey, we arrived at Yellow Bay, next to Okuneva Bay.

The bay greeted us warmly - with a calm, quiet surface.

The shore was a sandy beach that attracted many vacationers. To our right, Cape Kyurönniemi jutted out into the Gulf of Finland, which protected us from the wind. There was a camp of camping trailers there. On this cape there is a monument to Mikael Agricola. Mikael Agricola is a Finnish educator who translated the Bible into Finnish. In Finland, the day of his death, April 9, 1557, is considered a national holiday, Finnish Language Day. There is a lighthouse on the very ledge of the cape. On the shore opposite us there was a car with a trailer in the water. One of the fishermen had already launched the boat and went fishing. There were several boats with fishermen in the bay. Basically, everyone was anchored in one place - which meant they were catching white fish. An hour later the owner of the car returned to the shore and I hurried to ask him about the catch. In the cage there were about three kilograms of small roach mixed with small perch. He and his grandson fished mainly with a float rod. But there were also bites on the spinning rod. I asked him about pike perch, to which I received an affirmative answer that there are no pike perch here and you need to swim towards Primorsk about 8 km to get them. Vika and Maksik got ready for bed, and I pumped up the boat and headed towards Primorsk in search of pike perch. It was about twelve o'clock at night, clouds covered the sky, and it became dark. Having rounded Cape Kyurönniemi, I encountered a growing wave, but continued to move towards Ermilovo. Having swam along the coast for about 5 km at a distance of 300 meters from the shore, I felt kind of creepy. The wave intensified, it was dark around, and not a single soul. If you encounter any obstacle such as a stone, you can run into serious trouble. Realizing all this, I decided to return. Having approached the shore about a hundred meters, I threw the wobbler, set it to low speed and went to the shore. On the way, the motor caught someone’s net, it’s good that it didn’t get wrapped around the propeller. I reached the camp at about two o'clock. I dragged the boat into camp and went to bed. In the morning I got up at seven o’clock, since I didn’t buy worms and maggots, and there was no point in getting up to catch roach at three in the morning. There were already two boats on the ridge jutting into the water from the cape. Swimming closer, I realized that they were catching roach on a float. About a hundred meters behind them I noticed a small flock of seagulls circling in the sky, occasionally descending to the water.
Without hesitation, I went to these seagulls. Having anchored about twenty meters from the place where the seagulls were circling, I cast my spinning rod and a perch bite immediately followed. The perch turned out to be very small and was released in the hope that he would call his older brother.
The depth below me was four meters, I threw baits in different directions and on almost every cast there was a bite. The perch was standard and immediately went overboard. I fished with a slightly modified Split Shot rig. The main line is braided, at the end there is an eared sinker, then a leash of at least a meter with an offset hook and bait. The leash is made of regular fishing line with a diameter of 0.12. The edible twister, long tested in these places, is used as bait.

A perch of this size did not quite suit me and I began to experiment. First I increased the size of the bait, then switched to a wobbler.

I swam nine meters deeper and still to no avail. At nine meters I set up the equipment, changing the color and size of the baits on it. There was no result. Returning to the original version, small perch immediately began to bite. Three hours later Vika called, saying that they had woken up and prepared breakfast. I took a dozen perches with me for fish soup or frying on the fire and returned to the shore.
Returning back, I noticed that the wind had strengthened, and there was already a coastal wave in the bay. A couple of hours later the Akhmetkhanov family arrived; they had their wedding anniversary the day before, and we prepared a surprise and gifts for them.
We spent the whole day having fun with the children, flying a kite, and driving a radio-controlled car.
All the vacationers also had fun and entertained us. And I kept looking at the water and realized that the wind was not going to calm down. This means that evening fishing is under threat.
After lunch, more guests came to us - Denis Ryabinin and his family. I promised him to go fishing, but the weather was bad. We sat by the fire and cooked various delicacies.

And yet, in the evening at about six, Denis and I decided to take a risk and go out into the bay. In the bay, hidden behind a cape from the wind, there were several boats. Everyone caught roach using a float rod. Moving further and leaving the bay, we realized that fishing would be uncomfortable. We anchored a little closer to where I fished in the morning. Dangling on the waves, we cast our spinning rods. On the second cast I got caught on the bottom and tore off the rig. Denis had a wobbler, and it was clear that it was hooking the bottom and dragging mud along with it. We had to sail further. Sailing another fifty meters further, the depth did not change, and the waves only intensified. Attempts to play with the bait looked funny. I wanted to hold on to the boat more. We decided that this was not fishing and went ashore. In the evening the wind did not subside. We drank hot tea, warmed over the fire, and went to bed. In the morning I got up at seven o'clock and went ashore. The wind became even stronger than in the evening and drove the waves ashore even in the bay itself. Without hesitation, I went to the tent to finish my dreams. Everyone woke up gradually - some at nine, some at ten. We had breakfast with sausages fried on the barbecue.
Then they began to slowly get ready to go home. This is where the fishing ended. But before I say goodbye, I would like to touch on one problem that we always face when fishing. This is the picturesque region in which we live. What beauty surrounds us.

Chanterelles have already appeared in the forest.

Now look how we thank her for this.

For the last few years, when leaving fishing, I have been trying to take away not only my own garbage, but also the garbage left by other vacationers. There is nothing difficult, collect everything in a garbage bag, put it in the car, even if there is no room in it, like mine.
And throw it in the nearest trash can in a populated area that you pass on the way home. No need to leave disposable barbecues, the whole forest is littered with them. Remove any ropes you string onto trees. Try not to leave absolutely anything behind. Thanks everyone in advance. Yes, I forgot to tell you that on the way back we stopped at the place where

Okunevaya Bay, the old name is small Tazgou, one of the best, in my opinion, bays of the Primorsky Territory. The bay has a beautiful sandy beach with coarse white sand, on both sides of the bay there are beautiful rocky shores, and the sea has clear azure water. There are three separate beaches in Okuneva Bay, all three of which are wonderful places to relax. On the territory of Okuneva there are recreation centers: “Côte d'Azur”, “Dream Bay”, “Green Coast” and several other bases with houses.

I liked Okunevaya Bay for its cozy atmosphere and more suitable for families with children than Triozerye. Of course, Triozerye is a large and gorgeous beach, but it’s harder there with children, because... The beach is large and you have to keep children under supervision at all times. And in Okunevoy there is much less beach (at the Cote d'Azur and Dream Bay bases), but there are also fewer people. On the territory of the bases there is everything for children's recreation, from a playground to a swimming pool, where children will enjoy splashing around in water that is warmer than in the sea. The beach has everything for adults to relax too, an outdoor gym, a sauna, diving, boat trips and much more. On the territory of the base there are all services, from a cafe to a shop. The rooms are equipped with everything you need and are suitable for a family holiday.

When going to Okunevaya, keep in mind that there is no free parking; the road essentially ends at recreation centers. So if you are planning a free holiday with tents, then this place is definitely not suitable.

Okunevaya Bay stands out for its azure water in the sea. The water is crystal clear and transparent plays with different colors depending on the depth, from transparent near the shore to dark blue at depth. The bottom of the sea is sandy, and the bottom of the rocks is rocky. Therefore, here you can safely swim on the sandy shore and dive with a mask and fins on the rocky shores. True, the water in Okunevaya Bay is cooler than on the same beaches, but the beauty is incomparable.

The most suitable time for a holiday in Okuneva Bay is from mid-June to the end of September, depending on the weather, so when planning your holiday in Okuneva, take care booking cabins, because There are almost no available rooms during the season.

Where is it located and how to get to Okuneva Bay

History of Okuneva Bay

By the way, Okuneva Bay has an interesting history; it used to be called small Tazgou, this old Chinese name is derived from Dazigou - Tazovskaya river. Until the end of the 1950s, the village of Tazgou existed, and a prisoner settlement was located near the main beach in Okuneva. There were barracks, a blacksmith shop, a sawmill, and a pier. The prisoners were engaged in salting fish, making boxes and barrels, boiling iodine from seaweed, and extracting fish oil. Only the remains of cement vats remind of fishing activity.
