Hospitable Sheraton.
I stayed at the Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & SPA 5* from March 22 to April 3, 2019. Check-ins at the hotel were offered by different tour operators, I chose according to the convenience of departure and arrival times and airport. Among the offers was an Emirates Airlines flight, but the departure was at 19.00 (that is, not only the day of arrival was lost, but also the night), so even such a brand was not attractive, and in the end she flew with an Azur Air charter from Vnukovo. Flight without any comments, smooth takeoffs/landings, there - a small Boeing (however, about 10 minutes tickled my nerves in the turbulence zone), back - a large one, much more comfortable in terms of the distance between the seats. The transfer was regular and quite fast, although we stopped in Ajman first. I expected to arrive in the heat, but we arrived in cool, windy and rainy weather, temperature +22°. Thoughts immediately, how to swim in the sea, that is, in the Persian Gulf? Cold!
So, check-in. A question that causes quite a lot of comments, judging by the reviews. Even when paying, sitting in the travel agent’s office, I knew that a Deluxe room (which is what our tour operators mostly buy) is a one-room room, with a city view, without a balcony, king-size bed / twin beds, max. 3 people I always go to this site and read the hotel description and reviews. By the way, the site gave me a letter of recommendation, which was not very useful, but thanks to it anyway! Thanks to all the predecessors who are not lazy and describe their stay at the hotel. After all, it’s not without reason that they say: forewarned is forearmed. Thanks to the reviews, I also knew that the windows in this room did not open. However, if you read the descriptions of other fives in Sharjah, this happens often, the country is hot, and, as all the guides mention, in the summer in the sun the temperature can reach plus 60 °. Last time we vacationed in the neighboring Coral, there were absolutely no options there, none of the rooms had balconies. It’s very simple, if the voucher does not indicate a room with a balcony, then they will ask for an additional payment for a balcony if rooms are available. For my room the supplement was 60 dirhams per day. Judging by the reviews of other tourists, some received a balcony as a bonus, without additional payment. I don’t advise you to make a scandal and “download your rights”; this is an Eastern country, and soft and polite requests are more likely to achieve the goal. In the East, feelings of dignity and respect are traditionally hypertrophied; show a little respect, and it will come back to you with the trinity. I took a video about my room when I checked in, I’ll try to attach it (p.s. I couldn’t attach it, the site doesn’t allow it - the room had a living room and a terrace-balcony on the first floor). The reception is located on the P1 floor, and the main restaurant is on the P2 floor, but P means...podium)) All the reception staff were always hospitable. I was hosted by Winnie, a beautiful African woman from Zimbabwe. Regarding things from the road, leave them there (under the supervision of someone, just in case) and ask at the reception, they will definitely send someone to help with things. They just don’t know inside when this or that guest will arrive, and the bus won’t arrive at the entrance. Otherwise, from the road to the hotel there is a ladder, and on the right there is an inclined path. It will be difficult to climb with suitcases and bags.
The room has an iron, ironing board, scales (they worked for me), a kettle in the cabinet, a bucket for champagne, well, for cooling drinks, tea, coffee, dry cream, mugs, cups and paper cups, also with lids, a minibar (not used) in a small refrigerator. Every day they give me bottled water, I had a few more bottles left by the end, I didn’t have time to drink it. I need an adapter for the socket, someone found it in my room and disconnected it from some lamp, but I couldn’t find anything similar in my room and ended up buying it in a supermarket for 15 dirhams. The beds are luxurious, almost all vacationers are unanimous about this.
Yes, I had to wait for my room in the club bar (tea and buns as a compliment from the hotel) for about an hour on the 9th floor, from where you can take a selfie with stunning views from the terrace. And after the noisy and bustling metropolis, this expectation seemed simply a break from reality, the rest began. As for the weather, March 19 was unusually cool, it rained almost every day, and one day it rained all day long, and there was even thunder. There were an unusually large number of accidents, because no one was used to driving on wet roads, and the locals simply asked in prayers why the Almighty was angry with them.
The hotel itself is very beautiful, both inside and outside, in oriental style, traditional sand color, because previously only sand was available as a building material. And the decorative turrets on the roof of the Sheraton along the edges with protruding handles (I’ve seen them before, but never thought about them) are a kind of air conditioners; burlap was attached to the handles in a special way, they were turned, and this design forced air into the house. The guide told me about this interesting fact on a tour of modern Dubai, but before I had no idea what it was. The same turrets are repeated on Madinat Jumeirah Suuk, a famous tourist market place in a beautiful area of Dubai. In the halls there are beautiful twisted crystal chandeliers, paintings and sculptures in a modern style, personifying perpetual motion. Some tourists in their reviews notice the lack of shampoos in the shower, but do not see the beauty of the environment that surrounds them. Someone wrote, a beautiful three, they say, but no... miracles don’t happen. If you're an early bird, you'll see a whole team scrubbing, wiping down glass surfaces, and cleaning hotel lobbies and lobby areas. Meet the eyes of any of the staff, they will definitely tell you - Hello, ma`am. And it’s more like madam. But in Russia? That's right - a woman!))
Weddings also took place at the hotel, which did not disturb us at all. On the contrary, I think we could have stopped them more quickly. Imagine, a wedding ceremony is going on, drums are beating, the groom is greeted, then the father leads the bride in a stunning dress, the guests are moving along the pool to the restaurant, and very nearby half-naked vacationers are splashing in the pool (and no one was asked to vacate the pool early), who jumped out of the water, wrapped in towels and filming a video. And no complaints, they just don't look around. The wedding guests were returning in the evening past us - girls in ballroom evening dresses were limping, and someone was simply carrying their shoes in their hands - both men and women (not used to walking in such shoes) and smiled at us. Here is the tolerant East. The wedding was Arab, but the Arabs were not local; women and men celebrated together. The girls were very beautiful.
Nutrition. I was only at breakfast. The buffet is standard for five. Three types of fresh juice: pineapple, orange and mixed fruit. The coffee machines always worked properly. What's interesting is the detox drink to the right of them, when it's mint root, when it's grapefruit. In general, for my health I definitely took a few sips of this “drug” (the emirate is non-alcoholic). The pastries are delicious. Beef and chicken sausages, potato nuggets, vegetables with mushrooms. A girl from the Philippines made fried eggs to order: fried eggs, scrambled eggs, various fillings, tomatoes, mushrooms, cheese, etc. The plates are at the bottom of the tables on the shelves; I didn’t find them right away on my first breakfast. The terrace offers stunning views. By the way, someone also mentioned birds as a disadvantage, but in this case you can sit indoors. I really enjoyed having breakfast on the terrace, but unfortunately it was closed for a few days due to the weather. Breakfast is until 11, by 9 everyone begins to arrive, the bustle begins, there may not be enough clean tables, but the waiters are efficient and quickly respond to requests. Girls from Africa with their magnificent smiles lift your spirits in the morning. It is best to arrive at 8 (or earlier), then breakfast takes place in a quiet, peaceful atmosphere. Some people write in reviews about the food - uniformity, they say. But this is a very diverse uniformity 😊 There were frightening reviews on nutrition in past years, during our visit I didn’t hear from anyone about any health problems - ttt.
Nutrition lifehack for those who eat breakfast. All other meals are taken outside the hotel. Not far away, if you walk past the Coral and on the circle, and further on there are restaurants and cafes. I ate in a cafe right next to the Golden Fork, very tasty Arabic cuisine. The smoothies (fruit cocktails on the menu) are simply excellent, Arabic shawarma with various sauces, which are prepared in secret by an Arab chef. They really greet you like princesses, although the atmosphere is not luxurious, and the food is tastier than Dubai restaurants, as it is almost home-cooked. The menu is also in Russian. Yes, immediately add 5% for service to the price on the menu (they will add it in the receipt). Dinner for three of 2 main courses and 4 smoothies cost us 205 dirhams. And a small shawarma on the street costs only 6 dirhams.
Number service. I have everything - shampoos, gels, soaps, towels, etc. — there was sufficient quantity, my maid (from Nepal) cleaned very cleanly. There were also cotton pads with ear sticks and a nail file, I used sticks, so I reported them to me every day. I asked for a sewing kit - I found it right away, was delighted, and gave me two! A lot of dust flies from the street, so the balcony will never be clean; when going out onto it, I changed my shoes so as not to stain the carpet in the room; when entering the room I immediately put on slippers. Every day I left a tip of $1. When checking out, I wrote a note to the maid with gratitude. Yes, most often there are not enough dressing gowns. But everyone seems to be wearing them at the pool, where did they get them from then?
Self-opening doors are very convenient; they swing open and don’t even need a doorman.
Beach. Towels are provided immediately upon exiting the door on floor G, that is, ground. The buoys are very close, but the first week there is a storm almost every day with waves and the buoys are overflowing above your head. You can swim freely up to the buoys in the waters of Coral, but it’s deep there! Apparently, the bottom here was heavily filled during construction. They wrote about fuel oil, nothing like that, only if you go further towards the embankment, there is a muddy bottom. There used to be a turtle and a heron there, but they left, it’s a shame. And on the last day there was a surprise: I met several large jellyfish. Of course, their jet movement in the water is very beautiful, but I’m afraid, I’m afraid they will sting. Be careful, ask the rescuers when you enter if there are jellyfish in the sea. They can clearly see them from the pier. As for the sun loungers, they are clean and comfortable. One day I came, it was a very nice day, and all the vacationers crawled out into the sun. I’m walking, looking for a free sun lounger, and then the lifeguard is already dragging it, he saw me, and he’s dragging it to me, he didn’t even have time to ask. Asks: Ma'am, where to put it? But after lunch, not everyone will return to the sea, and many sunbeds will be free.
It was a very convenient moment that I could sneak up to my room, wrapped in towels, even though Sharjah has a strict dress code. It is inconvenient to pull clothes on a wet body.
Swimming pools. Divided into zones. There are signs everywhere indicating the depth. The deepest is 1.67 m. You can swim safely. The hydromassage area will work well on problem areas, only for people with health problems - with caution, indeed, not a “duty” jacuzzi. The heated pool was very useful, since the sea was around 22°, or even less, and after the sea it was good to warm up in the pool.
SPA. A wonderful massage with a discount costs 240 dirhams. Men are massaged by men, women by women. If you pay an additional 50 dirhams upon arrival, you can use the sauna and hammam throughout your stay.
The hotel is loved by Russian tourists, many Kazakhs, but there are also foreigners and local Arabs. Its price is quite affordable (although a little expensive for us, but you have to judge by the market), because it is located quite far, on the border of Sharjah and Ajman. Buses go to shopping centers in Sharjah every day according to a schedule, they will be issued at the reception. As for the lack of animation, including for children. I thought that in childhood we had no animation at all, and the best entertainment was a vacation at sea. Nevertheless, there were a lot of children in the hotel; my vacation fell during the school holidays. About those children with whom I crossed paths, I can say that they left happy.
I took excursions from a wonderful girl at the hotel, her table is in the lobby opposite the reception, and not from the guide, and I can confidently recommend her. If necessary, he will help with translation and treat tourists informally. The Burj Khalifa is impressive, I went up to the observation decks on the 124th (balcony) and 125th floors and 60 dollars is not a pity)) The excursion itself is inexpensive, only 25. You don’t have to climb the tower, there will be more time for the Dubai Mall and the singing fountains, and There is a laser show on the tower itself. Amazing when you consider that the emirates were created just a few decades ago (in 1971). And although it rained all day long, the video turned out very beautiful and impressive. The ascent to these 350 m by high-speed elevator takes about ten minutes. The line to go down was a little longer than to go up, but overall we went everywhere without a delay.
At the Friday market in Fujairah (on the way to the Indian Ocean) I bought a silk viscose carpet, 2x2.90 oval. Here is the second life hack. You don’t have to worry about packaging, like I did at first, but just fold it neatly into a square, and then in the same bag that they gave me when I bought it at the airport, they tied it to my suitcase for 10 dollars (30 dirhams), it arrived perfectly and went through They didn’t even pay attention to the green corridor, just a wrapped suitcase. The carpet itself cost $150. What they call 500 is a splurge. In fact, everyone buys a Belgian carpet of this size made of viscose for 150, but I think it can be cheaper. Try calling it 100 for a price of 500 (that’s in dollars!).
The policy of the sheikhs, obviously, is to attract wealthy people to the country, therefore prices for parks and other entertainment places are expensive, and large discounts are not provided for children so that people come to see the wonders of the world, the tallest tower in the world, and leave their money. Therefore, at the end of the description of each excursion it will be written, do not forget to take... this and that and... money!
Well, the vacation is over, now we need to save money for the next one. If I forgot to write about something, ask, I will try to answer everyone in the comments. For me, Sheraton has become a hospitable home during the holidays, I wish you all a good holiday! I would like to add regarding recommendations that everyone must make a decision for themselves, and let different reviews and opinions successfully help in this.
p.s. 8.04 after calling the bank with clarification, the deposit was returned to the card, they took 800 AED (13,007 rubles) for my number;
I recommend not to wait, but to call the bank upon return and clarify; on the check at the hotel for this amount it was written PRE AUTH, which means pre-authorized

A magnificent palace from Arabian fairy tales - this is how the Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & Spa 5* in Sharjah welcomes its guests. Colorful architecture and ultra-modern rooms allow tourists to completely immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the East and at the same time relax comfortably, taking advantage of all the benefits of civilization.

It is planned that over time the infrastructure will expand and, perhaps, animation will appear. However, even now there is a mini-club for children, there is a swimming pool and an outdoor playground.

The small area makes up for with excellent service and luxury. Expensive interiors, state-of-the-art technology, designer furniture, a private beach and excellent cuisine - this is a 5-star vacation.

Rooms

The rooms at the Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort are amazing at first sight - huge, beautiful, with modern furniture. The designers organically combined two styles – oriental and high-tech. The basic category of rooms is deluxe.

The care for guests is visible in everything. For example, the room must have a kettle and a tea set. In addition to tea leaves, coffee, cream and sugar, it contains stevia. This pleasantly surprises not only people who lead a healthy lifestyle and girls who adhere to a diet, but also parents of children with allergies.

Tourists with a child are usually offered a choice of a room with either one very large bed and one extra, or two large beds. Usually parents choose the first option. Moreover, if a child is under 8-10 years old, as a rule, after a few days they ask to remove the extra bed - it only takes up space while all three guests can comfortably accommodate on the main bed.

The room also has a standard set of furniture, a safe, air conditioning, hairdryer, TV, iron and board. The only caveat is that there is no outlet for a hair dryer in the bathroom (only for an electric razor), and there is no mirror in the room. Therefore, you have to dry and style your hair while looking at the TV screen.

All equipment in the room is from leading, well-established brands.

If you need robes and slippers or an adapter, you must inform the maid or reception.

In addition to the shower, the bathroom has a good bathtub, which is very important for families with small children, and there is also a separate toilet room. Plumbing equipment is also expensive, high quality, exclusively from premium brands.

Every day in the bathroom the maid replenishes:

  • Shampoo;
  • Gel;
  • Air conditioner;
  • Disposable washcloths;
  • Lotion.

The most affordable deluxe rooms without a balcony. If necessary, you can pay extra for a room of a higher category. It is worth considering that if there is no balcony, you will have to dry things in the bathroom, where they can dry for 2-3 days. This is very inconvenient, especially if there are children among the vacationers, whose clothes quickly lose their clean and neat appearance and need to be washed quite often.

Wi-Fi works great throughout the entire territory. Three devices are allowed per number.

Maids clean twice a day. If desired, you can refuse a second visit, or ask to limit yourself to replenishing the tea set and shower accessories.

Nutrition

The hotel offers all types of meals, including all inclusive. In addition to the main restaurant, there are several other restaurants and cafes on the territory, including a fish tavern and a national Arab establishment.

The assortment on the buffet is wide, as evidenced by photos taken by tourists. There is suitable food for absolutely any category of vacationers, including children.

Breakfast: omelettes with various fillings, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, grilled vegetables, fried or stewed mushrooms, several types of sausages, sausages and cheeses (including brie and masdam), bacon, potato pancakes, salted salmon and smoked mackerel.

Children also have plenty to choose from - cereals, yoghurts, fresh vegetables and fruits (juicy pineapple is a favorite of little guests), dried fruits and nuts, Nutella, muesli, cereal, pancakes, freshly prepared waffles and pastries.

When it comes to drinks, kids prefer milk, while older children prefer freshly squeezed juices, milkshakes and smoothies. Adults usually take a detox, tea, coffee, or just refreshing water with mint or lemon.

Many tourists who take a breakfast tour decide to purchase hotel dinners after visiting the restaurant. However, doing this already in the UAE is quite expensive, so it is better to immediately arrange meals HB and higher, depending on your needs.

The restaurant’s morning opening hours are also pleasing: from 7 to 11 o’clock. Early birds or excursion lovers, as well as those who prefer to combine breakfast with lunch, can enjoy a tasty meal at a convenient time. There is enough food for everyone, empty trays are instantly replaced with full ones.

In their reviews, tourists pay tribute to the catering - this is a real restaurant with delicious and fresh food, beautifully presented dishes, excellent cooks and professional waiters. There is no hint of a dining room and lines of trays with incomprehensible food, often prepared from yesterday's dishes, as in many other hotels.

There are few dishes for dinner, but each of them is exquisite and has its own unique taste. There is always meat and fish, there is a separate table with seafood and, of course, a sweet table - a favorite of the kids.

Japanese cuisine evenings take place twice a week. The taste of extravagant dishes is like the best dry food. However, even on such days, classical cuisine is always present in the restaurant hall.

If the child or mother is not satisfied with the choice of the buffet, just ask the chef, and he will prepare a separate dish for the child, for example, evening porridge.

An important nuance for parents - it is always very cold in the restaurant hall. Therefore, it is better to take a light blouse with you for your child, or initially put something warmer on him than a T-shirt and shorts.

It’s warm on the veranda, of course, but there are always a lot of flies there.

Staff

All employees are excellent professionals. They know their job very well, are polite and hospitable. Always ready to help with suitcases, strollers or beach accessories - sun loungers and umbrellas.

Almost all the staff speaks Russian, the rest try very hard to understand.

The friendliness, friendliness of the employees and willingness to help even out even those rough edges that can arise always and everywhere.

Entertainment and animation

There is a jacuzzi and a large swimming pool with a water cooling function on site, so swimming in it is refreshing even in the hottest times. Heating in the pool, necessary during the winter months, is also available.

The hotel has a children's area - a playground with fountains and a children's pool under a canopy, the depth of which is suitable even for the smallest. There is an English-speaking nanny in the children's corner.

A free shuttle daily carries tourists to the Dubai Mall, as well as to shopping centers in Sharjah.

It should be noted that in the very near future there will be much more entertainment elements, including for children.

Beach

The beach is so good that many people come here just for it. Beautiful sand - soft, white, very pleasant for your feet, you want to walk on it barefoot. Children are happy to turn it into Easter cakes and fortresses.

Parents will not have to go to the nearest tourist supermarket and buy a set of beach toys at exorbitant prices and then leave them in the UAE. Buckets, buckets, scoops and various funnels can be taken for free here on the hotel beach.

Also on the beach you can use sun loungers with soft mattresses, umbrellas and fluffy snow-white towels for free.

Not far from the shore there is a breakwater, thanks to which the water near the shore is always calm. However, sometimes the breakwater crushes the algae, causing the sea to take on an unpleasant hue and become cloudy. In this case, the rescue is a wild beach without a breakwater, which is located next door.

Location and surroundings

Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort Spa is located 16 km from the airport, almost on the border with Ajman. Grocery stores and pharmacies are within walking distance. The nearest shopping center is located in Ajman - the drive to it is about one and a half kilometers.

Some children's entertainment can be found in Sharjah, but for the main entertainment program, tourists usually go to Dubai.

Video about the hotel

Review of the Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort and Spa 5* UAE (Dubai) from the manager of Discount Travel

OAU. Holidays in the UAE. Dubai. Sharjah Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & Spa

Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & Spa 5*, Sharjah, UAE

All that glitters is not gold.
When you look at the picture and video of the hotel, your eyes are delighted with this beauty. And you look forward to seeing everything live. You think now you will find yourself in a fairy tale, but unfortunately this is just an illusion. Yes, the hotel is really beautiful in appearance. NOOOOOOO, and now the whole truth about the hotel (we vacationed as a family of three from May 5 to May 16, 2018):
:(1. Check-in was very delayed. According to international standards, check-in starts at 14:00. We waited for about 3 hours. This is the first time in my experience. We were not the only ones.
:(2. Shocked by the deposit, 1000 dirhams (16,000 rubles) for 12 days. If you leave it in dollars, you will get it back in dirhams at an unfavorable rate. And upon eviction, the deposit is a total mess.
:(3. Guests carry their bags to their rooms themselves. In 5* hotels, the luggage carrier must bring the luggage to the room. They are there, but apparently they only carry them for a select few.
:(4. We had a standard room with a balcony on the 3rd floor, but in fact on 6, apt. 20. The first three floors are reception. The room has one luxurious bed with lighting, but which stopped lighting on the third day. Electricians came and changed the unit food. There is a kettle, an iron, an ironing board, a refrigerator, a hairdryer. There are dirty stains on the carpet, cigarette stains on the chairs. There is mold in the bathroom, stains on the walls, dust in the corners and under the bed. And a big minus in the bathroom when you wash in shower, everyone runs to the bathroom and you can easily slip. The little one fell three times.
:(5. The territory, as it turned out, is small for such a hotel. There is minimal greenery, the pools are good, the beach is excellent, clean and shallow, just for children. There are breakwaters. But the point is that, by definition, there are not enough sunbeds for everyone. If 800 rooms are fully occupied, it is impossible for guests to take a place on sunbeds. Oh, and most importantly, it is difficult to go down to the sea with strollers, there are no ramps.
:) 6. Children's area. Everything is super here, a children's room with a nanny and a children's water area, two small pools. A crib is provided. But there is a problem with potties and children's toilet lids.
:) 7. There is a fitness area, only for women. Men are not allowed entry. The hall is 60 square meters without windows. The trainers are all good.
:(((8. Food. HORROR. Like in some filthy 3* hotel. Sorry for saying this, but the money was paid for varied, healthy food. I didn’t expect to see three types of fruit, broken carafes, and tasteless, rubbery vegetables soy sausages. Juices diluted with water. No children's menu. Well, most importantly, I did not expect to get an intestinal infection. Spend the entire vacation in a room with hellish pain. Confirmation of my words in the media, https://www.hotline.travel/pretsedenty/ rotavirus-ili-salmonellez/. https://countryscanner.ru/news/otravlenie-v-otele-sheraton/#comments.

P.S. Thank God everyone is alive and on the mend. But if the entire hotel is already unsanitary, what then happens in the kitchen? And the most important thing in this situation is the hotel’s relationship with its guests. They tried their best to hide it. There is zero hospitality, only false and forced smiles. I fully vouch for my words.

    Dear friends and colleagues!

Please note that New Year Peak Period Supplement does not include New Year's Gala Dinner.

New Year Peak Period Supplement– this is a mandatory additional charge for the room rate during peak periods (for example, the same as BIG 5, Arab Health, Gulf Food, Formula 1, Eid Al Fitr, Eid Al Adha, etc.)

    Dear friends and colleagues!

We inform you about the special traffic rules that will be implemented in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah during December 31, 2019 and January 1, 2020:

As the emirate prepares to ring in the New Year with an attempt to break two Guinness World Records for the longest pyrotechnic display and drone display, access to Al Marjan Island will be restricted from 11:00 am on December 31.

The only vehicles allowed access are taxis, Uber, public transport and private vehicles presenting a unique sticker pass (Rixos Bab Al Bahr management will provide upon request for its guests).

At 23:00, all main roads leading to Al Marjan Island will be completely closed. This means that after this time no vehicles will be able to reach the hotels until the roads are reopened around 03:00 hours on 1 January 2020.

    Best regards, Pegas Touristik.

    Dear friends and colleagues!

BIG5 is a mandatory surcharge (increased rate) applied by the hotel during exhibitions in Dubai. However, this does not provide any benefits for guests, no entrance fees.

The system reflects mandatory surcharges that appear on the guest voucher, even if they do not provide any benefits, they are simply an additional charge for the room rate on certain special dates.

By decision of the Government of the Emirate of Fujairah, due to unfavorable weather conditions, the beaches in this emirate are closed for use for an indefinite period.

Update 11/20/2019: beaches are currently open. However, due to the rainy season, the hotel may decide to temporarily close the beach for a day or a few hours. But these are exceptional situations.
