Bai Dai Beach Nha Trang reviews. Vietnam, Nha Trang: the best beaches. Tickets for trains, buses, ferries, charters

Bai Dai Beach is considered the most beautiful. This is confirmed by the assessment of the famous publication CNN Travel News, which in 2013 placed this beach in 93rd place in the “Best Beaches in the World” ranking.

General information about the beach

Bai Dai beach is located on the northwestern coast of the island, framed by two beaches - Ganh Dau beach from the north, Vung Bau beach from the south. Its total length is about 15 km.

Until recently, this long stretch of beach with fine sand and turquoise water had plenty of secluded places to relax.

Beach near Vinpearl Phu Quoc

The situation changed dramatically when the Vinperl complex opened here in 2014, after a massive construction project, which is now mostly built. The complex includes: Vinperl hotels, a water park, an aquarium, a golf course, a casino, and a safari park.

Vinpearlland aquarium

The beach, like the entire west coast, is covered with fine yellow sand. The entrance to the water is gentle, the current is small, the sea is warm. All this encourages families with children to relax on the beach.

Another unforgettable experience that you can take away from the beaches of the west coast is the views of stunning sunsets.

Not far from the beach is Turtle Island. It is visible to the naked eye. The island is popular among snorkelers, divers and fishing enthusiasts.

Having lived for about two weeks in the resort town of Nha Trang, we inevitably wanted a beach holiday in exotic and ideal conditions. The city beach of Nha Trang suffers from rather dirty coarse sand and a large number of vacationers, especially on weekends and holidays. We explored the surrounding area and discovered a clean deserted beach, about 7 kilometers long, called Bai Dai Beach.

How to get to Bai Dai Beach?

Bai Dai Beach is located 23 kilometers from the center of Nha Trang and 15 kilometers from Cam Ranh, where a major international airport is located. Despite the impressive distance for two people on one small scooter, it is covered easily and naturally. The roads are excellent everywhere, there are no steep descents or ascents, and because of the views you can stop every 5-6 kilometers, just like for a fruit smoothie). Buses from Nha Trang run every 15-20 minutes, any bus to Cam Ranh will do.

Hotels and beaches of Bai Dai.

Since the beach is very long, exoticism and cleanliness are not always at the highest level, especially since the local coastline is being actively developed with hotels. Most are still closed and there is construction going on around them. We had no trouble finding the perfect place to stay, between the Fusion Resort and Movenpick hotels. The wild beach itself turned out to be wonderful and unusually clean, but signs hanging everywhere prohibiting swimming in unequipped places forced us to walk 30 meters to the beach of the Fusion Hotel. The purest fine sand, clear azure water, the absence of neighbors and the soft Vietnamese Sun made us fall in love with Bai Dai Beach. Despite the proximity of the hotel, the several times that we came there, the landscape was beautiful and almost completely deserted. Hotels on Bai Dai Beach are quite varied, from the budget Fusion, to Mariott and Radisson. But there are only a few inexpensive hotels on the second line.

How to find Bai Dai Beach?

You can find the beach on Google Maps by searching “Bai Dai beach”, there is a dot with the name in Russian, you can’t go wrong. Based on the location of our place, be guided by the exit to the sea between the hotels. At the very beginning of the beach, on the Nha Trang side, there is a good Shack Vietnam cafe with seafood, but other than that there are no shops or other cafes, so be sure to take water and something to eat with you.

Bai Dai Beach Review 2018

And its surroundings. Not so long ago, Bai Dai was an extremely secluded beach and many people went there from a noisy city in search of peace and quiet, but today everything is no longer the case, since many foreign tourists, and even local residents, already know about its existence and are in a hurry to see this beach with their own eyes. a corner of heaven on earth.

Bai Dai is one of the best beaches in Nha Trang and one of the longest in the whole city (more than 15 kilometers long).

general information

Until 2004, Vietnamese military bases were located on the territory of Bai Dai, so the “long beach” was closed to ordinary locals and tourists, but since 2004, entry here has become possible for absolutely everyone. True, this opportunity was not immediately known to everyone, and therefore the beach was empty for a long time. Until now, this island of paradise in Vietnam has not been properly equipped with infrastructure, and everything that is available here is rather meager: several cafes at opposite ends of the beach, as well as numerous canopies and sun loungers available for rent. That is why it is not at all popular and cannot compete properly with neighboring beach areas, and especially the beaches of Nha Trang. There are no entertainment facilities or hotel complexes in the area, so you shouldn’t stay here until nightfall. Overnight accommodation in the vicinity of the beach is possible only at the campsite in a tent or at the nearest hotel, which is located a few kilometers from the beach at the northern end, and even then, this five-star hotel has its own well-equipped small beach isolated from the general area.

The Vietnamese government has quite big plans for Bai Dai: in the near future it is planned to create a center for beach recreation and tourism in Vietnam here, so when going to this beach, many do not even find it, because there is extensive construction around it and far from budget hotel complexes.

How to get there?

Bai Dai is at least a 15-kilometer coastline of pure white sand, located approximately 25 - 30 kilometers from the center of Nha Trang on the road leading towards Cam Ranh Airport.

There are two ways to get to the beach from Nha Trang:

— on a rented bike or scooter the trip will take about 35-40 minutes, rental will cost no more than $10 per day;

- using a taxi service. In this case, the cost of the trip, as well as the time the taxi driver waits for you for the return trip, will cost at least 550,000 VND. This opportunity to get to a remote beach is not available to everyone, as it is too expensive.

Another way to get to Bai Dai is to travel as part of a tour group. This option will not be the most expensive (no more than $10 per person), and the price of the excursion includes not only the round trip, but also the rental of a sun lounger for the entire duration of your stay on the beach.

State of the sea and coastal areas

Unfortunately, Bai Dai cannot be called the cleanest beach in Vietnam, and even with some beaches in Nha Trang it cannot be compared in cleanliness. This is understandable, because more and more tourists come here, and since the beach is public and municipal, there are no special cleaners here, at the same time, many vacationers are not used to leaving cleanliness behind.

As for the state of the sea, it is very clean, much cleaner than all the beaches in Nha Trang. It is very calm here, and there are practically no waves, so Bai Dai has ideal conditions for relaxing with small children.

The sand on the shore is fine and snow-white, and the entrance to the water is gentle, without sudden changes in depth or depressions.

Bai Zai and surfing

Big waves are not uncommon at Bai Dai Beach. Despite the fact that they can reach several meters in height, they cannot be called dangerous, which is why surfing is so popular here. To this end, enterprising Vietnamese even opened a rental point for the necessary equipment for practicing this sport. Moreover, both an experienced surfer and someone just starting to master the board will be comfortable here.

The environment on Bai Dai beach is considered calm by surfers and, even despite the size of the waves, it is considered only a place for beginner-level activities.

Tourists visiting for the first time enjoy the city beaches only for the first couple of days of their vacation. The local embankment is clean and well-maintained, but the huge number of vacationers on it can tire you. Some people are also annoyed by the proximity of a noisy city, especially in those moments when the soul requires peace and quiet. When you want to avoid loud music, the roar of motor boats and water scooters from all sides, and there is nothing around except palm trees, snow-white sand and the azure sea.

Experienced beachgoers who have been there several times, and most local residents try to spend their holidays on the outskirts of the city, or outside it in little-known places, or Bai Dai Beach.

Bai Dai Beach

Located in the southeastern part of the city near. Locals and European tourists call it differently: Bai Dai, Bai Yai or Bai Zai(the last option is the most correct from the point of view of the Vietnamese language).

Interesting! Its name translates simply – “Long Beach”. It got its simple name for its length of almost 15 km, which makes it the longest beach in the area.

Story

The area next to the beach belonged to a naval base for a long time, and therefore it was closed to the public for a long time. 35 years, until 2004, when this facility curtailed its military activities. But for several years after access was opened, this area was empty and was actually a wild beach, which only local residents and the most inquisitive of tourists knew about.

By the end of the 2000s, developers came to Bai Dai, who built several hotels here, built roads and created infrastructure for high-quality and comfortable recreation. But even despite this fact, the beach remains little known to this day.

Peculiarities

First of all, the beach is different snow-white and very fine white sand, which has a consistency similar to flour. It is very pleasant to lie on it, have fun and go into the water. The descent into the water is gentle with a smooth change in depth, which allows you to swim without the risk of drowning or being covered by a wave, even for small children and adults who do not know how to swim. Bai Dai does it

The water here is clean and clear with a pleasant turquoise tint, and the waves are almost absent or have a moderate height. Windy weather can arise here, which leads to the appearance of high waves –

How to get there?

Tickets for trains, buses, ferries, charters

12Go.Asia provides online booking of all modes of transport on one platform, in the countries of Southeast Asia and Oceania.

The beach is located 30 km from the city center. There are several ways to get to it.

By bus

It is not possible to get directly to the beach by public transport, because due to low passenger traffic, there is not a single route to this part of the city. However, tourists who want to save money can use by bus to Cam Ranh airport, which is located just 1.7 km from the beach.

Until some times of the year, it was possible to get to the airport by one single public bus, which left the central bus station of Nha Trang to the airport and back once a day. And also on more expensive minibuses. Apparently city officials were put under pressure by taxi drivers who did not want to allow competitors into a very profitable route. But this situation could not last forever and in 2017 the transport department launched a service to Cam Ranh city bus number 18.

The final stop of this route is in the central part of the city, near the European quarter at the address: Yersin Street 19-8. Stadium. That is, next to the city stadium.

Opening hours are from 5:30 to 19:00. The cost of travel to the airport: 50,000 dong ($2.20), and around the city 10,000 dong (25 rubles).

The bus arrives at the parking lot in front of the terminals, from where there is a direct road to the sea.

You can overcome it on foot in 15-20 minutes, or by using the services of a motorcycle taxi, which will take you to the sea for only $1-2.

By taxi

It is convenient to order taxis and transfers on Kiwitaxi.ru - this is an online system for searching for taxis and booking individual transfers. Pros:

  • fixed cost
  • meeting with nameplate
  • 24/7 support

Traveling to Bai Dai by taxi will be quite expensive if the passenger does not have bargaining skills.

A 30 km one-way trip according to the meter will cost from 600,000 dong ($27), but for this price the driver can wait for his passenger all day until he buys up and goes back.

In total, such a trip will cost almost 60$, which is unreasonably expensive. If the customer is not too lazy to bargain, he can try to persuade the taxi driver to turn off the meter and knock price up to $20.

Another good option to save money is to order a car via the Uber app.

During low-rate hours (when taxis participating in the program are not busy), a trip to Bai Dai can cost only $15-20.

REFERENCE! On any street in Nha Trang you can catch an auto-rickshaw or a man on a bike with the sign TAXI. For just $7-10, it will take its passenger to the beach in a breeze. But such a trip has several disadvantages: the recklessness of Vietnamese drivers who constantly violate traffic rules and the need to order several bikes if the vacationer is not alone.

Alone on a bike

For those who do not want to depend on the city transport schedule and argue with taxi drivers, bringing down the price, the best option would be to rent a bike for $6-8 per day.

The journey by motorcycle from the city center to the airport takes only 40 minutes.

The shortest way to the beach from the center of Nha Trang is through the northern Ha Long Bay Bridge. You need to take it first to get to the airport, and from there on the road to Bai Dai. You can get directions around the city using simple map applications on your smartphone, for example: Google maps.

Upon arrival at the beach, it is recommended to put bike to secure parking near local hotels or cafes, thus protecting it from theft. They rarely happen here, but you shouldn’t neglect safety rules because of this.

Infrastructure

Almost the entire beach area, except for a few sections in the center, is divided between nearby hotels. Each of them takes care of the area entrusted to him and improves it.

Therefore, here you can find all the infrastructure facilities a beachgoer needs:

  • paid and municipal parking;
  • catering establishments;
  • several supermarkets;
  • rental stations for water sports equipment and boats;
  • swimming pools with bars, discos, night clubs;
  • sun loungers, umbrellas, showers, changing rooms;
  • massage parlors.

There are merchants walking along the beach who sell Vietnamese fast food and soft drinks for a small price.

What to take with you?

Besides a small amount money for beach expenses and swimwear, vacationers in Bai Dai will not need anything else. The most economical tourists can take food, a blanket and an umbrella with them. Everyone else can rent a sun lounger with an umbrella on the beach, and eat in one of the many local cafes, or buy food in a store.

Advantages

The beach has the following advantages:

  • large length - there are areas with infrastructure, or completely wild beaches;
  • desertion - poor transport accessibility discourages most tourists from traveling to Bai Dai, so it is very quiet here, which is conducive to a relaxing holiday.

Many hotels on the coastline offer rooms of all price categories. It’s easy to find cheap accommodation here for the night, or for the entire duration of your holiday in Nha Trang.

Flaws

The beach is criticized for the following:

  • some areas of the beach are not under the control of any of the hotels - they are rarely cleaned and in some places are heavily littered;
  • it is difficult to get to the beach by cheap transport and expensive by taxi;
  • some are annoyed by the noise of planes from Cam Ranh Airport.

Hotels on the map

On the coastline along the beach there are more 30 hotels of various price categories.

The cost of rooms in the cheapest of them starts from 1000 rubles per day.

Is the beach paid?

In general, the beach is completely free, but some hotels may charge a fee for staying there, usually this fee includes the rental of a sunbed and umbrella, as well as the use of a shower.

Throughout the rest of the territory, the cost of renting a sunbed is 50,000 VND ($2.20).

Excursions to Bai Dai

You can book a tour to Bai Dai Beach at any travel agency in Nha Trang.

The cost of the tour is from 20 to 40 $ per day of stay.

The price of the excursion includes: transfer, rental of a sun lounger on the beach. In some cases, the price includes food, but rarely. The tour can be booked at any travel agency or even at your hotel.

Work has three advantages: Friday, salary and vacation.
