Windsurfing Ayia Napa. Geography of Cyprus. To obtain a visa you will need

Cyprus is similar in many ways to the Greek islands and the conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing are also very similar. There are many beautiful beaches here that are suitable for wind entertainment.

Cyprus is a state located on the island of the same name in the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea. In the northern part of the island the coast is very rocky and steep, but the southern coast with large plains and long sandy beaches with a comfortable entrance to the clean water is of great interest. Spots with and without sports centers are located on this side of the island.

It is fair to note that despite the fairly large number of spots on the island, they are not in the top in popularity because... do not have ideal conditions due to a combination of factors, the most important of which is wind conditions.

An undeniable positive point is the development of wind sports on the island. Relatively recently there were no rentals or surfing here. training stations - now you can find them without much difficulty. They may not have a huge range of equipment, but they exist, they work and will be happy to offer their services not only for rental, but also for training.

Like many European beaches, priority is given to swimmers and their safety, so it is more difficult for kiters here. And despite the fact that sports centers offer services for kitesurfers, the only real kite spot that has as many as three stations is Pervolia, but it is located “apart from civilization” at a distance from hotels, cafes and restaurants.

Common to all spots: there is practically no coastal wave at most spots. At the same time, smooth water is also a rare phenomenon; in most cases there are choppy waves and waves of the order of 1-1.5 m at a distance from the shore.

Specific conditions depend on the selected spot and sports center, with a specific range of equipment and services. Most of the stations have enough equipment in their arsenal for initial training; not all of them have equipment for advanced ones...
Spots usually have no more than one surf center, although some spots are located quite close to each other.

It is also worth noting that it is quite possible to find Russian-speaking instructors here.

Visa and customs

In order to try out the spots of Cyprus, Russian surfers will need a visa, the documents for which must be submitted to the Embassy of Cyprus in Moscow or the Consulate General in St. Petersburg. A visa to Cyprus is issued in one day, no visa fee is charged.

It is especially pleasing that if you enter the country through Larnaca or Paphos airports, you can obtain an electronic entry permit in advance, valid for 90 days.

Holders of a valid Schengen visa can enter Cyprus without issuing a national visa, but only if it has already been used for at least one entry into the territory of the Schengen countries and departure from Cyprus is planned within the validity period of this visa.

To obtain a visa you will need:

  • a foreign passport with a validity period of at least 3 months from the end of the trip, with at least one blank page;
  • a copy of its first page;
  • a completed application form in English;
  • one color photograph 3x4 or 3.5x4.5 cm (the photo must be glued to the application form);
  • a copy of the invitation from a Cyprus travel agency, travel voucher or hotel reservation confirmation - in each case with the stamp and signature of the responsible person.

Pro-visa. Travelers arriving through Larnaca and Paphos airports can apply for a pro-visa, which is not affixed to the passport, and the passport itself must be valid for at least 6 months. A form is filled out on the website of the Cyprus Embassy in Moscow and sent by email to the visa department. Within two days, the applicant is sent a pro-visa with a unique number. Present this pro-visa at the airport and you will receive a single entry stamp valid for 90 days.

Typically, islands located in the middle of inland seas are not considered ideal surfing destinations. The absence of ocean currents and large waves does not help attract experienced athletes, but beginners and non-professional athletes are very comfortable here.

Similar islands include Cyprus, located near the coast of mainland Turkey. When talking about tourism in Cyprus, in particular about surfing, we usually mean the Republic of Cyprus, which occupies the southern part of the island of the same name. Turkey has declared the northern part of the island as a territory under its control, which is not recognized by the rest of the world community, so there are few foreign tourists there; mostly visitors are Turkish citizens and Turks from other countries. But Northern Cyprus is also suitable for surfing.

Season

The water temperature in Cyprus never drops below +16 °C, so theoretically you can be in the sea even in winter, without forgetting to wear a wetsuit. The entire coast of Cyprus is recognized as a large convenient spot for surfing and other water sports: windsurfing, yachting, kitesurfing. But in summer, water sports off the coast of all popular beaches are limited to buoys installed at a distance of 40-50 m from the coastline. This was done to ensure the safety of swimmers, who should feel confident at least within a limited area.

Surfers and other athletes carrying heavy equipment such as boards are prohibited from crossing buoys and swimming close to the shore, which greatly limits their activities. Compliance with safety rules is closely monitored by lifeguards and inspectors on duty at all visited beaches in the country. Outside of such beaches, surfing is possible without restrictions. At the end of the “high” season, the buoys are removed, and the entire coast is freely accessible to athletes of all sports.

So, a good surfing season starts in early fall and ends in late spring. At this time, real wave connoisseurs come here, who are not afraid of the low air and water temperatures. The summer months are also suitable for surfing, for both beginners and seasoned pros, but many beaches have restrictive buoys.

Maybe you'll get lucky

Spots

Let us repeat once again that surfing is practiced on almost the entire coast of Cyprus. We will highlight only the largest and most visited by athletes.

  • Protaras is a resort located in the southeast of the island, on the easternmost part of the country. Protaras is separated from the very lively resort of Ayia Napa by several kilometers, but the rhythm of life and entertainment in them differ greatly. Protaras is a quieter and calmer, one might say a cozy family resort, while Ayia Napa is conducive to youth holidays. The town of Protaras itself is located in a small bay, which protects it from strong and cold winds, so the climate all year round seems milder than in neighboring resorts. In the winter months, the thermometer does not fall below +7 °C, and in the summer it does not rise above +33 °C.
  • Ayia Napa (Ayia Napa) is a resort town 8 km from Protaras. The town gained its popularity thanks to its sandy beaches with golden sand, clear sea, developed tourist infrastructure and high level of service. Water sports are very popular here: surfing, diving, yachting, water skiing. The beaches of Ayia Napa have been awarded the highest award - the Blue Flag, which characterizes them as environmentally friendly and comfortable for swimming. The beaches of Nissi, Pantahou, and Lanta are especially loved by swimmers and surfers. There are lifeguards on duty at each of them, and there are rental points for sports water equipment. For secluded surfing, you should look for small coves in the vicinity of the city, where no one bothers surfers to enjoy the waves.
  • Larnaca is a large Cypriot city where surfing is becoming a tradition for both visiting athletes and local residents. The city has many surf schools, sports equipment and equipment stores, surf camps and water equipment rentals. The famous Dikelia beach becomes the afternoon meeting point for many surfers holidaying in and around Larnaca. A pleasant bonus for your vacation: there is an international airport near the city.
  • Limassol is a large city on the southern coast of Cyprus. The resort is noisy, active and bustling. There are always a lot of people here, playing sports or sightseeing during the day, and having fun at beach discos or nightclubs in the evening. Limassol Bay is protected from strong winds, so the waves in its waters are not very large, perfect for training adults and children. Despite the busyness of the resort, on its long coast there are always small coves or wild stretches of beach where there are few people and surfers do not interfere with each other. Famous spots: San Rafael, Paramali, Lady's Mile, Kirium Beach.
  • Paphos is a city in the southwest of Cyprus, the mythical birthplace of Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love. The waves on the coast are stable, so surfers are always visible outside the city, and swimming tourists on the shore of a populated area interfere with water sports. An additional advantage of this resort is the presence of an international airport nearby.
  • Northern Cyprus. There are much fewer tourists here than in the neighboring southern country, but it is this sparseness that attracts some surfers. The beaches are sandy and small pebble, the winds are constant. The resorts have surf schools, sports equipment stores, and board and wetsuit rentals. The most popular among surfers is Morphou Bay, especially the stretch of coast between the city of the same name and the village of Ghaziveran.

Schools and camps

In all of the above cities, in many resort towns and on most visited beaches, surf schools or surf centers are located. They operate rental centers for equipment and equipment. Often, schools have camps or small hostels and hotels where surfers stay.

The cost of training at different resorts and in different schools differs slightly. On average, a two to three hour lesson with an instructor plus board rental costs 40-50 euros. A three-day training will cost approximately 200 euros, and a whole week will cost 350-400 euros.

Flight

Since Cyprus is an island state, the easiest way to get to it is by plane. Airplanes from Russia are accepted by two international airports, they are located in Larnaca and Paphos. Aeroflot and Transaero transport tourists from Moscow to Cyprus in 3.5 hours, and Cyprus Airlines in 4.5 hours. This is due to the fact that Cyprus Airlines is prohibited from flying over the territory of Northern Cyprus and they make a detour around the island. Despite this, their prices are sometimes cheaper than Aeroflot's.

Direct flights also fly from St. Petersburg to Larnaca. Charter flights fly to Cyprus from various Russian cities throughout the year. There is an option to fly from Russia to Cyprus on connecting flights, with transfers in Helsinki, Minsk, Vilnius.

Ticket prices start from 100-150 euros one way and go up to 1000 euros.

Accommodation

Cyprus is a very developed resort in terms of tourism, so there are no problems with accommodating visitors. Holidays in the country are not cheap, but you can find various accommodation options: from surf camps to expensive hotels.

For example, a single room in a 4* hotel in Ayia Napa or Paphos will cost 5-12 thousand rubles per day, and prices for accommodation in a studio room of a small guest house start from 2 thousand rubles.

Ways to save on tickets and tours: early bookings and group bookings, promotional offers from air carriers and tour operators.

You can select a period for a cheap flight using Aviasales:

Cyprus is not the best place in Europe for windsurfing, as for me the same Canary Islands look much preferable, but it’s up to you. On the other hand, it is impossible to call Cyprus an unsuitable place for windsurfing; the main thing is to guess the weather and everything will be as it should. One of the best places to practice this sport is the Cypriot resort of Limassol, where you will have to pay about 50 euros for one lesson (if you have never stood on a board before, then be prepared to spend several hundred euros). The cost of renting equipment and instructor services depends on the influx of people and the tourist season (at the height of the season, prices are the highest and bargaining is almost useless). In order to master the board properly, it is best to contact one of the sports clubs that specialize in teaching windsurfing. This center is located in the east of Limassol, next to the St. Raphael. This place is great for beginners, as beginners here can confidently stand on the board and not be afraid of sharp gusts of wind. The bottom is sandy, which means you don’t have to wear special shoes. The downside of this center is the prices, but this is a purely subjective assessment. A special corridor is designated for surfing, but sometimes surfers go beyond it (it all depends on weather conditions).

Club membership costs about 50 euros and allows you to save a lot of money (if you rent equipment, the discount is five euros). The standard daily rental price is 30 euros. Five training lessons and two hours of rental will cost approximately 230 euros (for club members).

If such prices seem too high to you, then for about 20 euros you can rent a surf on the Central Beach of the resort, where there are several rental points. The disadvantage of these points may be that they do not always offer new and high-quality equipment; sometimes it is quite worn out.

But the best place for skiing and learning in Limassol is considered to be the surf club, which is located on Lady's Mile beach. The club offers good rental equipment, there are no problems with parking, the wind is excellent, and the prices are very reasonable (it is better to buy not just one service, but a package of services).

Another good place for windsurfing is Larnaca. And here the Vulcan surf club deserves special attention. The center has professional staff, a friendly atmosphere, pleasant music and, most importantly, the number of windy days a year reaches 90%. All equipment is high quality. In addition to surfing, visitors are offered entertainment such as banana boat rides, parachuting, water skiing and much more.

The basic training course costs 220 euros and lasts three days (two hours each day). A one-week course will cost 400 euros.

PALESTINIAN MONSOON - steady wind on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea. In summer it blows from the sea to the land (cf. Eteeii), towards the vast pressure depression over South-West Asia. In winter, with the disappearance of this depression, winds arise towards the pressure trough over the Mediterranean Sea. This monsoon tendency manifests itself along the entire coast and even on the northern shores of the sea, but is often suppressed by the prevailing westerly transport of air masses.

Opened in 2008 by fierce skaters from Samara, this surf center provides everything windsurfers and kiters need.

In addition to training, they will help you 100% immerse yourself in the fiery parties of the island.

Welcome to visit us in Cyprus. The resort island is known to everyone who loves the sun, sea, eternal summer and endless beaches. The surf club will open up a new side of active recreation in Cyprus!

The station is conceived as a club place that will unite everyone who is at least somewhat close to surf culture. Pleasant music, friendly team and constant fun activities help maintain a pleasant atmosphere. And of course, warm weather all year round and 60-90% of windy days, what could be better for a surf station?

The location of the station is well chosen in the middle of the island. This is right between club Ayia Napa and all sorts of spots for any level of skiing and passion. The motto of the surf center: During the day - Surfing, At night - Party!!! Few survive :) There are spots with various riding conditions for every taste, from an ideal flat to a wave with a wave of 5 meters. And the main thing is that not only the kiter, but also the surfer can afford to choose a spot. Surfpatrol will take you to any point in Cyprus in less than an hour, with or without equipment, depending on the purpose of the trip. Professional instructors and the latest equipment from Gaastra and Tabou are always at your service. And also the best conditions for your learning and progression. In addition to the surf station, our beach, of course, has all the traditional water activities: scooters, parachutes, bananas, cheesecakes, water skis, etc. From time to time, mini-Olympic games are held on the territory of the station, the program includes pamella football and a snowball fight with tangerines.
The losing team cleans up the beach. :)

Stas, hello! Thank you! I read, I study. Yesterday we arrived from Cyprus, later I will write a report on the gurney and more. True, the winds were atypical, northerly, and only 4 days worked out. In general, November Cyprus was a real discovery for us; we didn’t expect so much pleasure from the low season. Almost empty, with air +25, water +22+24, excellent regular S7, empty roads (which is extremely valuable for mastering right-hand drive), car for 10 euros per day and so on. Maxim and Nastya’s are ascetic, but quite acceptable, the equipment is good, I liked the water area, but it’s not suitable for beginners with the strong north winds and surf. But the main discovery is that it really is a very long season in a close location.

Stas, good day! Here is a detailed review of Cyprus. Review in Cyprus, November 15-27, 2015 We went suddenly, instead of the canceled Palm Royale in Safaga. November Cyprus was a discovery for us; we did not expect so much pleasure from the low season. The main discovery is that there really is a very long warm-skating-swimming season in a nearby place. Almost empty, with air +25, water +22+24. Excellent regular flight S7. Almost empty roads, which is extremely valuable for mastering right-hand drive. A car costs 10 euros per day, and this includes the airport tax. It’s very cool to travel to cultural, historical, and shopping places, since it’s not hot and there are almost no visitors. The first 8 nights we lived near the Vulcan surf center, about 2 km from it towards Larnaca, in the village of Kermia Beach. Next 4 nights west of Paphos, in the village of Kissonerga. Larnaca is a very lively city even in low season - very good. And take a walk and sit in taverns. Plus, a special bonus is getting out of the old center of Larnaca by car the first couple of times in the evening in the dark. Nice place Mackenzie Beach and surrounding area, fishing port with fish restaurants, etc. Although we definitely found it better to live and ride in the Vulcan area, east of Larnaca. I also really liked Paphos for its interesting places and nature. Different terrain, more mountainous, different beaches, more green than in the eastern part of the island in the area of Ayia Napa and Protaras. On the eastern outskirts of Paphos there is a simply stunning beach where a gurney is bound to appear. Perhaps this will be a branch of Vulcan? Actually about the gurney in Larnaca. The winds were atypical, northerly, and the rides lasted only 4 days. At first glance, Maxim and Nastya’s place in Vulcan will seem a little ascetic to those who are accustomed to huge surf centers in Egypt and to the fact that the equipment is carried for them. As it is, everything is more than acceptable, the equipment is good, the location is excellent. I liked the water area, the entrance and exit are sandy without stones. But beginners will be less comfortable with strong north winds and surf, since in this case the breakwaters do not protect the beach from the waves and a little skill is needed to enter and exit. According to Maxim, with typical southwestern winds it generates a good wave, plus it is much more convenient from a safety point of view, since it presses against the shore. If the flow to the Cyprus gurney increases noticeably, it will probably be necessary to develop Vulcan. Increase the amount of equipment and, apparently, somehow expand the center. Maxim and Nastya will help and advise on any local issues - where to eat well, the right local shops in Larnaca, and where it’s interesting to go. For which we are very grateful to them!

Sveta, good afternoon, Thank you very much for the trip. Everything was very great. I decided to write a short review so that you have more information about this place. Excellent place for children. The LYSITHEA hotel is conveniently located: a stone's throw from the sea, a stone's throw from the surf station. You can take your child from the station to the hotel for lunch and quiet time at any time. The sea is shallow and warm, which is also very good for children. In the hotel itself there are many children of different nationalities, so there are no problems with company for the child (perhaps there is a problem to take the child away from the children when you need to go to dinner or sleep))) In my opinion, the only drawback is the lack of decent taverns near the hotel. There is a very good tavern, but you have to walk 15-20 minutes to get there. Gurney. We were lucky with the gurney. There was wind every day (!), which did not happen on every trip. The wind is slowly turned on at 11 o'clock (a good time for students, since at this time there are practically no waves), by twelve - half past twelve it begins to seriously blow up, waves begin, and at five or six the wind is turned off. And so every day. According to the guys at the surf station, there is always such wind and even stronger, except perhaps in August, when it is very hot and thermals do not form. The choice of equipment at the surf station is not rich, but since there are not very many skaters, there have never been any problems with a shortage of sails. According to Max, if you contact him in advance, there will be no problems with boards of any size. A separate topic is waves. The wind is pressing. Therefore, on the one hand, there is complete safety, it will not be carried out to sea - sooner or later, far or close, but it will always wash ashore. On the other hand, when there is a strong wind, the wave sways. We had only surfed relative flats before, so the wave experience was very interesting. At first nothing worked, but then we got the hang of it. A wonderful place for wave lovers. In general, the atmosphere at the surf station is very friendly and pleasant. Special thanks to Max, Nastya and Gene for everything. General conclusion: a little-promoted, but interesting place with waves and almost guaranteed wind. I recommend! Thank you very much again.

This letter is to those wives and girlfriends who, like me, follow their wind-dependent halves as a “suitcase without a handle.” For the skaters, I will only say that my husband rated the Vulcan surf station on Dhekelia as follows: “Excellent. One might even say almost perfect.” He needed wind and good equipment, he got everything and was happy. Joy for her husband is usually overshadowed by boring and painful waiting on the shore, under the sun. Or comparable in terms of money, but not so exciting, “sitting” in nearby restaurants and bars under the annoying attention of Arabs, or Turks, or other aborigines. At the Vulcan station, I waited for my husband under the shade of a canopy, treating myself to local fruits. The STO beach is beautiful, clean yellow sand beach, there is everything your heart desires. There were the nicest and most interesting people around, cheerful but unobtrusive. The sea is crystal clear and soft. I have never experienced such a state of comfort and ease in any other place, in any other country, or at any other station. And I have been faithfully and faithfully following my husband for several years now))) Several times I found myself an accidental listener to instructions for beginners. And she made the decision: “I’ll try to get on the board too.” My husband was very happy about this. Early in the morning, while the wind was not very strong, I was instructed and... I think everyone knows how it happens in the first days))))) After three lessons, I began to understand what makes people look for surf stations and the “right” one. wind))))) It seems that I will soon be able to share my husband’s hobby, this is very important and promises great pleasure))) Our decision, now a joint one, is to go to Larnaca, to the Vulcan station. To Maxim!!! We thank Maxim and Nastya from the bottom of our hearts for a wonderful time and recommend their Vulcan station in Larnaca, Dhekelia, to everyone who flies on holiday to Cyprus.

Hello! Does this wonderful school have a website or any contacts?) I’d really like to know about training!

Greetings!. Thank you very much. We had a very good trip. Everyone is happy!) At Musx’s base there is complete anarchio-democratic liberalism, based on windsurf fanaticism). Here. Very good people. There was complete anarchy at the base, but all participants somehow received their sails and boards and were happy. Max is a very enthusiastic person. I immediately said that it was unclear what to teach, but I would give advice. And his advice was truly spot on and practical. In general, everyone is happy with everything. Thank you. Konstantin. P.S. Max spoke very positively about you. And your recommendations were very significant; He cared about our three more than the others. Thank you. P.P.S. The hotel is really the closest. But very noisy. We're sick of weddings. Every day until 3 am.

stas 01.06.11

I was bitten by dogs several times as a child. And for this I received a bunch of injections in the stomach, ass, and at the same time under the shoulder blade. Which is not fair, because they had to. Well, okay, those dogs died a long time ago... But I haven’t yet, which is strange - I tried. But I will remind myself (and everyone who wants to) in a separate manuscript about where, how and why I tried to help myself, but I am writing this article about something else. Rabies vaccinations or is there life in Cyprus? Kind of like a review of a spot, but as chaotic as the place itself. 7 years ago, a narcologist I knew explained to me that I should not be happy about the fact that I am neither an alcoholic nor a drug addict. Participating in extreme sports is the same manifestation of the desire for self-destruction of one’s body, that is, a mental deviation. That is, from his point of view, a drunk, a surfer or another extreme sports enthusiast is all one. I don’t know about you, but when I don’t have a wheelchair for a long time, my sleep and appetite are disturbed, my driving style changes, and I develop a craving for more accessible sources of emotions. In short, I’m drawn to adventure.. In such cases, they buy me a ticket and say “go and get treatment.” That's how I ended up in Larnaca. Weekend tour for 2 people to an e4 star hotel [with flights] - 500 euros. Several flights per day - you can choose the departure time. When landing, I saw a completely white sea - I haven’t seen such a picture for a long time. I wanted to take a taxi, but the guides promised that we would start moving soon. As a result, I lost an hour. When I arrived at the hotel, I left my things at the reception and went for a ride. There are no options for where to ride. The only Russian surf center in Larnaca offers tabou and gaastra. The sandy shore is slightly curvature [concave]. To the right of the surf center there are paddling pools lined with stones for parking two boats. Since the wind is from the right to the shore, this does not create any problems. To the left of the surf center there is sand. There is a lot of sand. All the way to Ayanapa, the center of nightlife in Cyprus. On the day of my arrival, the wind was blowing from the left. I used a 3.7 sail, 85 board [weight 84]. Still, there were a lot. Almost everyone who went out on the water was blown away - the wind was very gusty. The day counted. The next day the wind returned to its usual direction and was steady and even. As it turned out, one of the two boats sank at night in the paddling pool; it was flooded by waves. They took him out in front of me. We rode the fives comfortably and a lot. After lunch, the wind weakened a little and the kiters took to the water. And I went to the store to buy some wine and a party was planned at the surf center. Until the territories of free love began to work [since May] in the clubs of Ayia Napa, evening entertainment is local in nature. But all the same, in the morning there would be no one at the surf center - I was convinced of this by opening my left eye [advantage of a room with a sea view]. Only after lunch did newbies undergoing training, as well as kiters, appear on the water. The depth in the surf center area starts slowly, so we have 70 meters of shallows - which is good for beginners and kiters. There is no need to go anywhere. Many family surfers specially come here on short tours at the beginning of the season to take a closer look and rent a villa or apartment for the holiday period - a 3-month visa is immediately issued here and it is obtained via the Internet. Larnaca [or rather its suburb] is very suitable for families with children - it is clean and there are quality hotels. For lovers of luxury hotels, it is better to relax in Limassol, where there is another Russian rental service. It is better to book training and equipment in advance. About the wind. April, May, September, October and November are probably the best time to surf in Cyprus. In summer there are also winds here, but they are not described statistically. In winter there is wind, but you definitely need a thick wetsuit. In terms of cost, tours here at the beginning and end of the season are cheap. On the May and November holidays it is cheaper than Egypt. Club holiday. Mykonos, Ibiza and the Cyprus resort of Ayia Napa are ideal destinations for those traveling in search of adventure. The surf center picks up such people from the resort in the morning for training and brings them back in the evening. There is no extreme skating here, but it helps for a short time. Brief conclusion - the place is limitedly suitable for windsurfers and kiters, but is excellent for kiters and people who know how to windsurf. There is no surfing (classic) here, because it’s the sea. March 2009.

Surf station Vulcan (Dikelia) is located 10 km east of Larnaca on the road to Ayia Napa (20 km west of Ayia Napa), the Dikelia spot is characterized as a beach tourist spot.

Vulcan station is located in the tourist area of Larnaca on the CTO beach, 500m from the 5* hotel Golden Bay Beach Hotel .

*You can get to the station by bus (Ayia Napa-Larnaca, runs every hour). The distance from the station to the beginning of Ayia Napa is 2 km.

Nearest hotels: Palm Beach real 4*, Golden Bay 5*,Lordos Beach Hotel 4* And Sandy Beach Hotel & Spa 4* 500m from the station.

Cheaper, but not a bad option Tsialis Hotel Apartments And Lysithea Hotel Apts, and the last hotel is 20m from the station.

The well-chosen location* of the Vulcan station between the club Ayia Napa and the spots makes the motto come true:

During the day – Surfing, At night – Party!

Initially, the station was designed for guests of nearby hotels and was designed to diversify their leisure time. The beach is sandy, the wind direction (mostly east) is almost onshore. In strong winds there is quite a noticeable wave both near the shore and in the sea. On the windward side, the beach is fenced with a breakwater 50 meters long.

The equipment of the station allows training to be carried out at any time of the year, and regardless of weather conditions.

Every autumn, the “surf safari” project starts, in the best spots, with riding conditions for every taste. Spots from an ideal flat to a wave with a wave of 5 meters. You can not only enjoy kite and windsurfing in the southern part of Cyprus, but also skate in the northern part. The surf safari offer is valid until spring. “Surf Safari” is a great opportunity to get maximum pleasure and information about Cyprus in a short period of time.

Professional instructors and the latest equipment from Gaastra and Tabou are always at your service. And also the best conditions for your learning and progression.

Vulcan Station is not limited to just windsurfing and kiteboarding, at the station you can also do yoga, or go on a sightseeing tour of Cyprus.
